IT Department
The Sterling Community School IT Department maintains and supports the technology and infrastructure utilized throughout the school district. The department works in support of the schools vision to provide support to Faculty, Staff, Students, Parents, and Guardians with district-owned technology. Students have access to Google Chromebooks from Kindergarten through 8th Grade to provide enriched instruction in the classroom. Helpdesk
The SCS Helpdesk is the preferred method for contacting the IT Department. All technology-related incidents and service requests are entered in this portal to help prioritize tickets and discover areas of high attention. You may contact the SCS Helpdesk through E-mail, Phone, or the Support Portal at any time.
CHROMEBOOK INITIATIVE
Sterling Community School is continuing its Chromebook initiative in the 2023 - 2024 School Year. Students starting in Kindergarten have access to Chromebooks in the classroom for instructional learning and at Grade 3 have access to them year-round. Devices are monitored in accordance with CIPA (Children's Internet Protection Act). For more information see the Resources below:
RESOURCES
The Documents section located on the right-hand side of the screen shows the district's Chromebook Policies as listed on CABE in-addition to Student Data & Privacy Policies and other relevant documentation. The IT Department and district provides full transparency on the educational and instructional application used in the school district by providing a link to each applications privacy policy for public viewing.
